What is protectedpdf?
Protectedpdf is a Digital Rights Management (DRM) solution for PDF-based content. Protectedpdf empowers companies to prevent unauthorized content usage and fully manage reader rights. Authorized readers can seamlessly access secure protectedpdf documents in Adobe Reader, without the need for additional plug-ins.

Why Choose protectedpdf?
Unauthorized usage of PDF files is a serious problem for companies that distribute electronic content but most software designed to prevent document misuse makes access significantly more difficult for legitimate readers. With protectedpdf, companies can prevent unauthorized usage, while providing authorized readers with seamless access.

Features and Benefits
The innovative protectedpdf technology offers companies all the features they need to control access to their valuable PDF-based content. With protectedpdf, companies can distribute their content in secure PDF files, provide legitimate readers with seamless access to content and dynamically control reader access rights.

How protectedpdf Works
Using protectedpdf, publishers can control access to their valuable PDF-based content by creating secure protectedpdf documents, setting reader access permissions, authorizing readers to access content in Adobe Reader and dynamically managing reader access permissions, even after distribution.

Network Topology
To access a secure protectedpdf document, an authorized reader submits login credentials via an in-document form. The reader’s credentials are then transmitted to the protectedpdf server, along with data identifying the document and the computer being used to access it. The server consults the publisher’s External Identity Provider to validate the credentials and returns a communication which unlocks the document.
