How protectedpdf Works
Using protectedpdf, publishers can control access to their valuable PDF-based content by creating secure protectedpdf documents, setting reader access permissions, authorizing readers to access content in Adobe Reader and dynamically managing reader access permissions, even after distribution.
Network Topology
To access a secure protectedpdf document, an authorized reader submits login credentials via an in-document form. The reader’s credentials are then transmitted to the protectedpdf server, along with data identifying the document and the computer being used to access it. The server consults the publisher’s External Identity Provider to validate the credentials and returns a communication which unlocks the document.
