Protectedpdf Enterprise Edition is a uniquely flexible Digital Rights Management (DRM) solution for PDF-based content. Using protectedpdf’s innovative technology, any company that publishes PDF content can create a DRM solution seamlessly integrated into its existing operations and uniquely suited to its specific needs.

Seamless integration and custom features

The innovative protectedpdf technology can be customized to work seamlessly with any electronic publisher’s existing workflow and Information Technology (IT) infrastructure. For example, reader authentication can easily be integrated into a company’s existing customer credentials database or service directory.

Furthermore, with protectedpdf Enterprise Edition, a company can create a set of document protection and reader rights management features designed specifically to meet that company’s unique needs. Innovative technology components

Any individual deployment of the protectedpdf technology will have two essential components:

  1. The standard protectedpdf software engine, for creating protected documents
  2. The publisher’s own customized Document Authorization Server (DAS)

A publisher’s DAS, will include all of the technology and user interface elements an organization will need in order to

  • manage document and reader access rights and permissions
  • authenticate reader credentials and unlock protected content

Flexible deployment

For maximum flexibility, these components have been designed so that they can be

  • deployed using in-house IT and development resources or outsourced to protectedpdf Professional Services
  • installed on-site or hosted externally on the protectedpdf servers

For example, a publishing organization’s DAS can be created in two main ways:
